The book,Parrotfish, was amazing in the fact that it is so eye opening to the struggles of LGBT youth, the entire "coming-out" process, and how difficult it can really be for them. Ellen Wittlinger did a great job of showing just how hard things can be for a person who is just a little different than everyone else. What that can do to them, but also how much stronger it can make a person than everyone else. She puts so much detail into all of the main character's thoughts, and the preception of his actions by other people. This book is appropriate for an audience of 14 and older.
