Author's Biography

        Ellen Wittlinger was born in Belleville, Illinois on october 21st 1948. Ellen was an only child while growing up. But, she was always popular in grade school, because she would raid her father's shop and bring in loads of candy and other sweets all the time. After grade school, Ellen attended college at Millikin University in Decature, Illinois. After college, she moved to ashland, Oregon because she had the itch to see other places in the United States with a close friend. While Ellen was in Oregon, she was accepted into the Iowa Writer's Workshop at te University of Iowa, for her Master of the Fine Arts degree. What Ellen got out of this was a new-found love for poetry.
        Her first book ever published was a collection of some of her poems called, Breakers , in 1979. Short after this, whe fell in love with writing plays, because it was all diolague, her favorite. But, it wasn't until the early 1990's that she decided to start writing for young adults. Her first young adult targeted book was, Lombardo's Law, in 1993
